The Ellis County Health Department on Monday reported the average number of new coronavirus cases per day in the last seven days dropped from nine to eight.
The department also reported an additional coronavirus-related deaths, bringing the total to 47.

There were 28 new cases of COVID-19 identified in Ellis County since Friday. There are currently 93 active cases, including five active hospitalizations of Ellis County residents, and 3,248 recovered cases.
The seven-day average of percent of positive tests rose 10 percent on Friday to 16.5 percent Monday.
Since reporting began, there have been 3,388 cases of COVID-19 identified in Ellis County, including 47 coronavirus-related deaths.

"Total cases" reflects all cases reported by the department. Because of delayed test results, total cases might include cases prior to the previous reporting period, so the figures might not necessarily correspond.
