THOMAS COUNTY—A driver is facing multiple allegations after a vehicle pursuit and crash on Wednesday.
Just before 4:30p.m., a Kansas Highway Patrol Trooper attempted to stop an eastbound vehicle on Interstate 70 just west of the Kansas 25 exit in Thomas County, according to Trooper Tod Hileman.
The female driver, identified as 31-year-old Melody Dawn May, according to online jail records, refused to stop and fled down the Interstate.
At 4:45p.m. the vehicle crashed near Eighth Street and Sunrise Avenue on the north side of Oakley. Troopers quickly located May in the backyard of a residence and placed her under arrest. The KHP released no additional details on possible charges. Online jail records indicate she is being held on requested charges that include Possession of marijuana.
