
Roy Donald Pywell, 81 passed away Sunday, January 2, 2022. Born April 30, 1940, the son of Cecil and Alice Fern Pywell.
He is survived by sons Mark and wife Sally of Burdett, Brad and Mary
of Lindsborg, daughter Joy Edghill and husband Darre, Murfreesboro TN;
grandsons, Lane Pywell, Chase and Corbin Pywell, Malachi and Syre
Edghill; and brother Lonnie Pywell. He was preceded in death by his
wife Evelyn, parents, and brothers Charles ‘Corky’ and James Pywell.
Roy grew up on a family farm near Palco. He graduated from Fort
Hays State University. He married his wife Evelyn Corwin on August 11,
1963. He worked for the United States Soil Conservation Service for
many years. After retirement he worked for Coop in Satanta and
Sublette. Roy loved his family. Anyone who knew him discovered how
proud he was of his children and grandchildren within the first few
conversations. Roy’s smile and wonderful personality blessed everyone
who was around him.
Roy committed his life to loving the Lord and serving as a prayer
warrior for many. We celebrate his life as one well lived and are
thankful for the blessing, he was to us. He will be deeply missed.
A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, January 8, 2022 at the
First Baptist Church in Plainville, Kansas at 10:30 AM. Visitation will
be on Friday at the funeral home from 5PM until 7 PM with family
receiving friends from 5PM to 6:30PM.
