
Robert Kenneth 'Bob' Green, 85, passed away peacefully on March 6, 2025 surrounded by his family.
He was born March 13, 1939 in Hartford, Connecticut, the son of Matthew R. and Mary (Price) Green. At the age of 17, he joined the U.S. Air Force and served his country proudly in Vietnam, Thailand, and Japan, and was part of the 89th Airlift Wing as crew chief for Air Force One. Bob retired in 1979 as Senior Master Sergeant, and after his retirement, he was Program Manager for the B-1 Bomber program at Dyess AFB in Abilene, Texas.
He is survived by his sons Matthew Green and wife Stacie of Chisago City, MN and Timothy Green and wife Mary of Grantham, NH, his daughter Erin Forst and husband Chuck of Pomfret Center, CT, and he also leaves many beloved grandchildren, Michelle, Patrick, and Benjamin (Jordan) Green, Samantha (Nathan) Lizotte, Jessica (Erik) Bellerose, and Jonathan Forst, Kassidy, Camryn, and McKenna Green, Alex and Bryson Green, Kyle and Shane McQuaid, and a great grandson, Lucas.
Bob was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 52 years, Phyllis (Karlin), his son Robert Sean Green, and his parents Matthew Robert Green and Mary Blough.
Funeral Services will be at 11:00 am on Saturday, March 22, 2025 at Hays Memorial Chapel Funeral Home with Fr. Damian Richards officiating. Burial with military honors by the Hays VFW Post #9076 Honor Guard will follow in St. Severin Cemetery in Severin, Kansas. Visitation will be from 10:00 am until service time at the funeral home.
