The Ellis County Health Department on Wednesday reported the average number of new coronavirus cases per day in the last seven days fell slightly from 40 on Monday to 38 on Wednesday.
The department also announced three additional coronavirus-related deaths, bringing the total to 26.
There were 82 new cases of COVID-19 identified in Ellis County since Monday. There are currently 474 active cases, including 15 active hospitalizations of Ellis County residents, and 1,794 recovered cases. As of Wednesday, there were 37 total COVID-19 inpatients at HaysMed, down from 40 Tuesday.
The seven-day average of percent of positive tests fell slightly to 33.9 percent.
Since reporting began, there have been 2,294 cases of COVID-19 identified in Ellis County including 26 deaths.
