USD 395 Safety Update
The Rush County Sheriff’s Office was contacted this morning after school administration became aware of communications from an unknown individual involving USD 395.
As a precautionary measure, the school was placed on a partial lockdown for the remainder of the day while law enforcement investigated the circumstances.
Upon initial investigation, it was determined that the reported communications appear to be similar to a social media-related incident that is currently occurring in communities around the globe.
At this time, there is no immediate concern for the safety of students, staff, or visitors at USD 395.
The matter remains under investigation. The school took precautionary measures out of an abundance of caution to ensure the safety of everyone on campus while law enforcement worked to determine the circumstances surrounding the report.
We appreciate the cooperation of USD 395 administration, staff, students, parents, and the community as we continue to prioritize everyone’s safety.
