Eunice L. (Van Greuningen) Neiltopp

Eunice L. (Van Greuningen) Neiltopp, 102, passed away on July 22, 2024, at the Andbe Home in Norton, Kansas. She was born to Art and Ann Van Greuningen in Prairie View, Kansas, April 6, 1922, in Prairie View, Kansas. She was the third child of four born to her parents. In 1929, the family moved to Norton. Eunice attended Norton School, graduating with the class of 1940. After graduation she went to work for Southwesten Bell Telephone Company for 4 years. In September Eunice went to visit Ken Neiltopp who was in the service and stationed at Gainesville, Georgia. September 20, 1944, she married Ken Neiltopp in Greenville, South Carolina. Eunice and Ken were blessed with one daughter, Tamra. They made their permanent home in Norton, Kansas

In 1953, Eunice went to work in the Norton County Treasurer’s Office and retired in 1987. Eunice was a worker and volunteered at the Andbe Home by doing residents hair, worked in the thrift shop, was on Methodist Church committees, helped deliver Meals on Wheels and was a member of the Downtown Flower Committee. She loved working with her hands, especially planting flowers to help make her yard and the community beautiful. Besides her work and volunteering, Eunice had many activities she enjoyed. She participated in Mendo Club, a sewing club, Mid Century Book Club, flower planting, and bridge club. The Rovers, a group of five couples, enjoyed traveling together, playing bridge, and anything they could all do together. Most importantly, Eunice and Ken loved watching their grandchildren’s ball games and other activities. Eunice was a member of the Methodist Church, the Methodist Women’s Group, and the American Legion Auxiliary.

Eunice leaves to mourn her passing, daughter, Tamra Miller, and husband Richard of Norton; grandchildren, Michele Donovan, Todd Donovan and wife Sheila, and Aaron Miller and wife Kara; ten great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by parents, Art & Ann Van Greuningen; great-grandson, Elliott Conard; brothers, Ted, and Paul Greuningen; sister, Wanda Heaton and son-in-law Michael Donovan; and many friends and family members.

A funeral service is planned for Saturday, July 27, 2024, at the Plumer-Gobber Funeral Home, Norton, Kansas, at 10:30 A.M. Interment will follow the service in the Norton Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the Funeral Home, Friday, July 26, 2024, from 5:00 P.M. unti 7:00 PM with family present to greet friends.
