Fireworks can be discharged in unincorporated areas of the county on and before Independence Day.

On Tuesday, the Ellis County Commission approved fireworks discharge times from 10 a.m. to 11 p.m. from July 2 to 4, aligning with the City of Hays’ schedule to make enforcement easier.

The city of Ellis allows discharge from July 3 to 4, and the city of Victoria only allows it on July 4.&nbsp;
