👟 La Crosse boys finish second behind Quinter at Triplains regional

COLBY – The La Crosse boys qualified three relay teams and finished second at Friday’s Winona-Triplains regional meet in Colby. Quinter won the team title with 77 points, the Leopards had 69.5. Osborne finished third with 63.

Osborne won the girls’ team title with 60 points, Rawlins County second with 50 and Quinter third with 49.

Colby Stull led the La Crosse boys, qualifying in four events. He finished second in the 100 meters and third in the 200 and was on the second place 4x100 meter relay and the third place 4x400 relay. Stull was joined on the 4x100 relay with Connor Schurr, Dayton Lantz and Bradi Schmidt. The 4x400 relay included Gage Burk, Will Ruess and Chris Schlueter.

The Leopards 4x800 relay team of Do Castaneira, Will Rues, Tristo Nelson and Kolton Maneth also finished second.

Gage Burk won two gold medals, winning both the high jump and long jump.

Brennan Steinert won the 300 meter hurdles and was second in the 100 hurdles and was the only girl to qualify for La Crosse.

Victoria’s Macy Hammerschmidt qualified in two events. She won the long jump and finished second in the 100 meter dash where she was 1/100 th of a second behind Michaela Rippe of Rawlins County. The Knights Callie Lane qualified in the 300 hurdles where she finished fourth.

Tanis Brungardt placed second in the shot put and is the only boy from Victoria to qualify for state.
