HAYS โ The TMP-Marian softball team took a two-run lead into the bottom of the sixth in their 3A regional semifinal Wednesday at the Bickle-Schmidt Sports Complex, but Beloit rallied for three runs and beat the Monarchs 3-2.
The Trojans (17-4) used three doubles along with a walk and an error to pull off the comeback.
The Monarchs (12-10) were retired in order on two groundouts and a strikeout in the seventh.
TMP grabbed the early lead when Hannah Garcia doubled and scored on a Brooke Koeningsman single in the top of the first. They added another run in the fourth when Halle Dreiling scored on a Jaci VonLintel two-out single.
Dreiling finished with three hits. Alexa Ryersee added two as the Monarchs out-hit Beloit 10-4.
Madison Augustine (11-9) went the distance in the circle and gave up four hits with four walks and four strikeouts.
Beloit lost to Hoisington 11-0 in five innings in the regional final.
