⚽ FHSU men takes on Lake Erie in next NCAA tourney test

Fort Hays State, the No. 6 seed in Super Region 3, will face off with No. 2 seed Lake Erie College in the Round of 16 of the NCAA Tournament on Thursday in Indianapolis at 2 p.m. CT (3 p.m. ET).

The Tigers are coming off of a 2-1 victory over No. 3 seed Wisconsin-Parkside in the Round of 32. Blake Arndt notched both goals in the contest bringing his team-leading total to 12 on the year. The Tigers had seven players named to the D2CCA All-Central Region Team with Arndt, Taisei ArimaKieran BrownAlec Bevis, and Viktor Robertsson all making the first team and Antonio De La Torre and Haruya Iwasaki being named second team. Brown has had a stellar season in goal posting 74 saves and 8 shutouts so far this season. The Tigers come into this match winning six of their last seven matches and own a 14-5-2 record overall.

Lake Erie earned their NCAA Tournament bid as regular season and tournament champions in the Great Midwest Athletic Conference (GMAC). They find themselves in the Round of 16 after a 2-1 comeback victory over Lewis. The Storm have won their last nine games in a row, while scoring 40 goals over the course of the season.
