Pregnant NW Kan. driver hospitalized after crash with semi

THOMAS COUNTY —One person was injured in an accident just before 9:30a.m. Sunday in Thomas County.

The Kansas Highway Patrol reported a 2018 International semi driven by  Kadyn R. Hernandez, 22, Kennesaw, Georgia was westbound in the 600 Block of West Willow Avenue in Colby.

The semi struck the back passenger side of a 2016 Lincoln Navigator driven by Lacy J Ralston, 39, Colby, who was exiting from Taco Johns onto Willow Avenue and did not yield to oncoming traffic.

 EMS transported Ralston, who is pregnant, to Citizens Medical Center. Hernandez was not injured. Ralston was not wearing a seat belt, according to the KHP.
