Ivan Jay Mansholt, 73, passed away Saturday, Sept. 4, 2021, at Smith County Memorial Hospital.

He was born Sept. 3, 1948, in Smith County, the son of Raymond and Maxine (Bock) Mansholt. 

Ivan graduated from Lebanon High School and later attended Beloit Vo-Tech for carpentry. After Vo-Tech, Ivan enlisted in the United States Army National Guard and completed boot camp at Fort Bliss, Texas.  He had been a welder and owned his own welding shop in Lebanon for a few years.

Ivan was a lifelong farmer and rancher, he raised all crops and had hogs at one time.  His biggest passion has always been his cattle.  Ivan was always eager and willing to help surrounding neighbors with their cattle.

Ivan married Beverly Atwood on Oct. 16, 1971, in Lebanon, to this union they were blessed with three children, Kristy, Christopher and Everett.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Maxine Mansholt and an infant brother, David.

Ivan is survived by his wife Bev Mansholt of Lebanon; daughter, Kristy Stewart and husband Ryan of Smith Center; two sons, Christopher Mansholt of Lebanon and Everett Mansholt and wife Tiffany of Smith Center; two sisters, Virginia  Mickelson and husband Mick of Longmont, Colo., Barbara Wineinger and husband Keith of Cawker City; two nephews, Jason Mickelson and wife Melanie, Timothy Mickelson and five grandchildren — three granddaughters, Kourtney, Lynsey and Rylee Stewart and two grandsons, Ryker and Reed Mansholt. These five grandchildren were his pride and joy!

Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 8, 2021, at All Faiths Funeral Chapel, 113 S. Madison St., Smith Center, with Pastor Lance McDowell officiating.

Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 7, 2021, with family present to greet friends during that time. Burial will take place in South Oak Creek Cemetery, Downs.  Memorials may be given to Kans for Kids Fighting Cancer and can be sent in care of the funeral chapel.
