The Kansas Department of Transportation plans to begin a chip seal on portions of U.S. 24 in Rooks and Osborne counties the week of June 16.

Work will take place on approximately 19 miles of U.S. 24 starting near Pleasant Street in Stockton and ending just east of Alton. Traffic will be reduced to one lane in areas where crews are actively working and directed by flaggers and a pilot car. Motorists should plan for delays of 15 minutes or less during daylight hours.

KDOT expects the project to be completed in July, conditions permitting.

Circle C Paving, of Goddard, is the project’s primary contractor with a total contract cost of approximately $846,000. For more information, please contact KDOT Area Construction Manager Dan Moore at 785-302-6205 or [email protected].
