Kansas teen hospitalized after SUV, semi crash

LANE COUNTY—A Kansas teen was injured in an accient just after 11:30a.m. Wednesday in Lane County.

The Kansas Highway Patrol reported a 2016 Ford SUV driven by Austin N. Handy, 18, Dighton, was southbound on North Elm.

The driver failed to yield the right of way at the posted stop sign for southbound traffic at Kanas 4. The SUV struck the driver's side of southbound 2016 Freightliner semi driven by Daniel S. Maske, 41, Hill City.

EMS transported Handy to the Lane County Hospital. Maske was not injured. Handy was not wearing a seat belt, according to the KHP.
