ELLIS COUNTY —Two people were injured in an accident just after 7:30a.m. Thursday in Ellis County.
The Kansas Highway Patrol reported a 2005 Honda Element driven by Andrew Holland, 50, Fort Worth, Texas, was westbound on Interstate 70 approximately four miles east of Ellis passing another vehicle.
The SUV hydroplaned across the westbound lanes, traveled off the roadway on the north side, continued sliding, traveled down the grass hill and overturned on the passenger side through the KDOT fence.
EMS transported the driver and a passenger Emma Holland, 18, Fort Worth, Texas, to Hays Medical Center. They were both properly restrained, according to the KHP.
