Thomas Wayne Talbott of Garden City, Kansas passed away August 22, 2021 in Hays, Kansas at the age of 66.
He was born September 15, 1954 in Omaha, Nebraska, the son of William C. and Sue Ann (Baughman) Talbott. Tom received a Bachelor of Business Administration magna cum laude from Wichita State University in 1976 and a Master’s in Business Administration with honors from Harvard University in 1979. Tom became the youngest Vice President of the Coleman Company in its century-long history, in charge of acquisitions. At age 34, Tom became President and CEO of Brookover Companies. He rounded out his career owning and operating a successful horse breeding ranch and farming operation in Garden City for more than 30 years.
He is survived by his father: William C. Talbott (Nancy) of Hays, sons: Trent Talbott (Heidi and grandson Dylan) and Colby Talbott, all of Overland Park, daughter: Brooke Talbott of Wichita, brother: Jim Talbott of Wichita, half-brother: Steve Talbott (Blythe) of Dallas, TX, adopted brother: Scott Talbott (Lottie) of Wichita, adopted sister: Lynn Talbott of Kansas City, MO, two nieces, and two nephews.
Tom Talbott was preceded in death by his mother Sue Ann Baughman Talbott Scheldt.
