Richard Earl Baker, age 81, of Park City, Kansas, passed away Monday, April 6, 2026, at Wesley Medical Center in Wichita. He was born August 7, 1944, in Wichita, Kansas, to John C. and Dorothy (Paul) Baker. On May 21, 1993, he married Linda S. Wasinger in Wichita.

Richard was a U.S. Army veteran who served in Vietnam. He retired in 2001 after many years as a postal carrier with the U.S. Postal Service. He loved to go fishing, country dancing, and spending time with his grandchildren and attending their many events. He was a member of Covenant Presbyterian Church in Wichita.

Richard is survived by his wife, Linda, of Park City; his children, Brian Baker and Trisha of Grove, Oklahoma, Matt Baker and Chandra of Greensburg, Kansas, Brian Kohl and Jodi of Bella Vista, Arkansas, and Amy Hoefer and Chris of Wichita; as well as grandchildren Kaitlin, Kaleb, Kyndal, Kali, Cody, and Jake.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, April 13, 2026, with visitation beginning at 10:00 AM, all at Keithley Funeral Homes and Crematory – Brock's Chapel, 2509 Vine St., Hays, KS 67601. 

Inurnment will follow at St. Joseph's Cemetery in Hays, with military honors courtesy of the Hays VFW Honor Guard.

A celebration of life will be held at 2:00 PM on Thursday, April 16, 2026, at Covenant Presbyterian Church, 1750 N. Tyler Rd., Wichita, KS 67212.
