A welcome rain fell in Hays early Wednesday morning.
The K-State Agricultural Research Center south of town reported 0.67 of an inch while the Hays Regional Airport east of town reported 0.77.
The Eagle Media Center, 2300 Hall, measured 0.88 of rain.

More rain is needed.
The 154-cumulative record at the ag research center shows an average of 21.26 inches of annual precipitation received by the end of October. Hays is more than two inches behind the yearly average with 19.06 inches.
