HAYS – Three Hays Larks pitchers combined on a three-hit shutout as the Larks opened up a seven-game homestand with a 4-0 win over the Colorado Sox Friday night at Larks Park.
Starter Dalton Campbell (1-0) allowed three hits over five innings with five strikeouts and five walks and picked up the win. Adrian Najar and Aiden Schmidgall both pitched two hitless innings of relief with Schmiegal getting his first save of the summer.
The Larks scored two in the second on a wild pitch and G Gilchrist single. They went up 3-0 in the third on a Houston Russell single then closed out the scoring with a run in the sixth on a Thomas Lyssy double.
Russell and Lyssly both had two of the Larks seven hits and both drove in a run.
UP NEXT
The Larks host the Sox in game two of the three-game RMBL series at 7 p.m. It’s also Military Appreciation Night. All active, reserve, and retired military personnel are specially invited to attend and will be honored on the field during pregame ceremonies.
