At its annual meeting on Oct. 9, the Kansas District Judges Association (KDJA) elected Grant Bannister, as President of the organization.

Bannister is the Chief Judge of the 21st Judicial District, which includes Riley and Clay counties.

In 2025, the Kansas district courts presided over 369,058 cases. A primary function of KDJA is to take positive action towards preserving and improving the administration of justice.

Among many initiatives, this includes modernization of the courts through the adoption of technology and promoting access to justice.

Bannister is a native of Hays, and the son of Marcia and Bill (deceased) Bannister.
