One structure and about 6,000 acres of grass and brush in northeast Ellis County were burned in a fire yesterday afternoon, according to the state fire marshal, Mark Engholm, who was on the scene. 

The blaze was near Codell Road and the Sweetwater Ranch with gusty winds pushed&nbsp;flames rapidly to the southeast.
