Three local students will soon see their artwork in voters' hands across Ellis County after winning the county's "I Voted" sticker contest.

Ellis County Clerk Bobbi Dreiling announced winners after receiving dozens of submissions from local schools during Tuesday's Ellis County Commission meeting.

The winning designs will appear on stickers distributed during upcoming elections, with 25,000 stickers already produced between all three designs.

The winners are Mary Vajnar, a senior at Hays High School, Kattie Haddock, a freshman at Victoria High School, and Colin Lee, a sophomore at Victoria High School.

The contest began in January and was open to students in grades six through 12 to submit their own designs. Officials received 39 entries from USD 432, 20 from USD 388 and one from USD 489.

Dreiling said the contest was initially intended to have one winner but was expanded to three due to strong participation. Three county employees selected the winners, who then personally presented their designs to the commission.
