INDIANAPOLIS - Six, 3-loss teams made the cut and are in the 28-team NCAA Division II football playoff field, Fort Hays State is not one of them. The Tigers (8-3) were left out of the postseason tournament field announced by the NCAA Sunday evening.
Two MIAA teams made the Super Region 3 field. Regular season champ Central Oklahoma (10-1) will host Ouachita Baptist (10-1) Saturday. Pittsburg State (8-2), who finished runner-up in the conference, will host defending national champ Harding Saturday.
Ferris State is the top-seed in Super Region 3 and receives a first-round bye. Grand Valley State is the 2-seed and hosts UIndy.
Super Region 4 had four 3-loss teams make the field. Angelo State (9-2), who the Tigers defeated in their season opener, is the 3-seed in the region and will host a first-round game.
