Janet Rankin, 95, passed away July 12, 2022, at The Village Of The Heights, Houston Texas. She was born December 24, 1926, on a farm in Albert, Kansas. She always said, “when my family came home from Christmas Eve service, I was dangling from the Christmas tree”. Janet was the daughter of Herman and Sena Behrens. She married Daylon Rankin on the very hot day of August 6, 1947.
She was a lifelong resident of Central Kansas, Janet was an active member of Peace Lutheran Church, serving many roles. She was also a supportive farming partner to Daylon.
Survivors include a son, Randy Rankin (Mary); a daughter, Pam Becker; three grandchildren, Laura Matyszewski (Sebastian), Colby Rankin (Paige), Ashton Becker (Sammy); and six much loved great-grandchildren.
Memorial service will be held on Friday, September 23, 2022, 10:30 am, at Peace Lutheran Church, rural Albert, Kansas. Inurnment will follow at Peace Lutheran Church Cemetery.
Memorials have been designated to the Peace Lutheran Scholarship fund, in care of Bryant Funeral Home.
