David Guy King

David Guy King, 74, of Worthington OH, passed away peacefully on December 2, 2021 at home. He was born February 18,1947 in Kansas City MO to Dean Gibson King and Rose M (Howard) King. He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Kathleen Donna.

He is survived by his loving wife, Audrey Janelle (Browning) King of Worthington OH; daughter, Melanie Ortega (Greg) of Conroe TX; son, Joshua King of the home; sister, Deann King of Salina KS; and in-laws gained through his marriage, including Richard Benson and Anne Browning, John and Nancy Browning; nieces and nephews; cousins; and friends.

After becoming an Eagle Scout through The Boy Scouts of America and graduating from Hays High School in Hays KS, Dave attended Kansas University where he met the love of his life, Audie. They married at the First Baptist Church in Salina KS on June 23, 1968.

After serving in the Air Force, he completed his BA and MBA at KU. He went on to work in information technology for Collins Radio, Rockwell International, and Bank One/Chase. He traveled the world and also lived in Aurora CO, Topeka KS, Lawrence KS, Bartlesville OK, Cedar Rapids IA, Tehran Iran, Allen TX, Lisle IL, and Terre Haute IN. Dave volunteered at The KY Horse Park, using his wonderful voice as a communicator and judging cross country competitions. He was also an avid science fiction reader and was an Australian Shepherd foster parent failure, owning 4 Aussies. Intelligent and forever curious about the world around him, Dave will be forever missed.

Arrangements entrusted to Schoedinger Worthington, 6699 N High St, Worthington OH 43085. Visitation will be held from 11 am to 12 pm on Monday January 31, 2022. The funeral service will follow with Pastor Steve Putka officiating. You are invited to attend virtually on Monday January 31, 2022 at 12pm by visiting www.schoedinger.com . Internment at a later date at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery.
