Farrel Francis Foster

Farrel Francis Foster, 88 passed away Saturday January 29, 2022, at the Parkview Care Center in Osborne, KS.

Farrel was born in Osborne, KS on July 11, 1933, to Francis & Matilda (Hageman) Foster. Farrel attended school in Osborne and graduated from Osborne High School in 1952. It was there he met and later married the love of his life, Merna Darlene Bader on November 29, 1953. To this union were born two children, Kathy and Daniel.

Farrel and Merna enjoyed farming and farm life. From their hard work and caring hands they created quite a life together.

Over the years Farrel worked for Quenzers Appliance, School bus driver, community and 4-H leader, Beef shake distributor and he was always ready to lend a helping hand to his fellow farmers.

He loved sports, watching and attending any event he could. He loved playing golf in his retirement years. He enjoyed telling stories of his custom cutting days, high school sports, coyote hunting and early years on the farm.

The love and devotion Farrel felt for Merna will always be cherished by his family.

He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Ilah Joy and brother Raymond Foster.

Farrel is survived by his wife, Merna of Osborne; daughter Kathy (Ron) Anderson of Wichita, KS; son Daniel (Nancy) Foster of Colby, KS; sisters Imogene Thornburg, Iris Hahn, Sandy Hudson all of Osborne, KS; 6 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.
