The Kansas Department of Health and Environment on Wednesday reported 61 new COVID-19 cases in Ellis County had been identified since Friday.
There was no report issued on Monday due to the Labor Day holiday.
There have been 354 new COVID-19 cases identified in Ellis County after a lull in cases dwindled to near zero in June.

As of Wednesday morning, there were 14 COVID inpatients at HaysMed. Twelve of the 14 were unvaccinated, the hospital said.
Since reporting began, there have been 4,158 cases of COVID-19 identified in Ellis County, including 74 coronavirus-related deaths.
