The National Weather Service in Dodge City is predicting a drastic cooldown Wednesday night, with wind chills dropping to the low single digits.
While the NWS is predicting heavier snow to the south and east of Ellis County, there remains a 40 percent chance of snow overnight Wednesday and into Thursday.
The front will bring strong winds up to 30 mph Wednesday night and into Thursday as well, with gusts of 45 mph possible. The high Thursday is expected to be just 34 degrees.
By Friday, milder weather returns with clear skies and highs of 56 Friday, 60 Saturday and 66 Sunday predicted.
