Woman hospitalized after car slides on icy I-70

GOVE COUNTY —One person was injured in an accident just before 1a.m. Saturday in Gove County.

The Kansas Highway Patrol reported a 2005 Ford Mustang driven by  Kendra M. A. Georges, 28, Colorado Springs, was westbound on Interstate 70 one mile east of Oakley and lost control due to icy conditions.

The car entered the north ditch and struck a sign post. EMS transported Georges to the hospital in Oakley. She was properly restrained at the time of the accident, according to the KHP.
