
Donna Marie Stejskal, 73, passed away April 12, 2022, at the University of Kansas Medical Center, Kansas City.
She was born February 7, 1949, in Smith Center, Kansas, the daughter of Darrell LaRue and Marjorie Nadine Williams Morgan.
Donna grew up in Smith County, Kansas, after graduating in Smith Center she attended Fort Hays State University where she met her husband, Thomas Louis Stejskal. They were married August 8, 1970, in Hays. After they graduated from Fort Hays State University, they moved to Larned, then later moved to Edwards County in the spring of 1977 where they lived until their retirement.
Donna was a member of the Catholic Church, and after moving to Larned became involved in the First Presbyterian Church, Larned. She was a longtime member of Franklin FCE, Edwards County Extension Executive board, where she served as chairman, FCS PDC, and FCE Council. She was very involved in Edwards County 4-H fair events, where she was a fair Superintendent and also a project leader. She volunteered at the Santa Fe Trail Center and the Pawnee Valley Community Hospital Auxiliary and was a member of the Card Club that didn’t have a name, “they just played pitch.” Donna was a wonderful cook and baker. She enjoyed planning mystery travel trips, going on bus trips, and spending time with her friends and family. Her greatest joys were her four grandsons.
Survivors include: daughter, Rebecca “Becky” Marie Stedje, Larned; son, Ross Thomas Stejskal, Colby; sister, Ronda Jones, Smith Center; brother, Ronald (Alice) Morgan, Smith Center; four grandchildren, Brendan Stejskal, Bryson Stejskal, John Stedje, Reed Stedje; and her nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Louis Stejskal; her parents, Darrell and Marjorie Morgan; and her grandparents, Alva and Helen Williams.
Memorial service will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, April 18, 2022, at First Presbyterian Church, Larned, with Pastor Bill and Diane Stapleton presiding. Visitation will be 1:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Sunday, April 17, 2022, at Beckwith Mortuary, Larned. Inurnment will be in the Larned Cemetery.
