More rain Monday in Hays; more of the wet stuff in forecast all week

Hays received .48 inches of rain in the the last 24 hours, according to the K-State Ag Research Center.

Hays has received 6.59 inches of precipitation this year.

Hays receives an average of 3.38 inches of rain by the end of June and 11.31 inches of precipitation for the year by the end of June.

Showers and thunderstorms are likely through 2 p.m. today, according to the National Weather Service. New rainfall amounts are forecast to be between a tenth and quarter of an inch, but except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.

Later in the day, expect cloudy skies, gradually becoming mostly sunny, with a high near 82.

The forecast calls for 50 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly after 11 tonight.

Chances of rain persist through Monday.
