Extension program will focus on tax changes for farmers, ranchers

Farmers and ranchers are invited to a 90-minute program focusing on tax changes in agriculture. The program will be from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 12, followed by a complimentary lunch courtesy of our sponsors. It will be held at the Cottonwood Extension meeting room, 601 Main, Hays. 

Roger McEowen, professor of agricultural law and taxation at Washburn University will address late 2022 tax legislation impacting 2022 farm returns including the provisions that recently expired and those that have been extended. Further items addressed will be deferred payment contracts; pre-purchasing inputs; weather-related livestock sales; employee retention credit and more. 

McEowen is heard each weekday by over 2 million listeners on Sirius XM and is a weekly guest on RFD-TV.
