Secretary Julie Lorenz will unveil signs celebrating the 50th anniversary of the completion of I-70 in Kansas and highlight the significance of the Interstate system across the country at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the Kanorado motor carrier station on eastbound I-70.
To get to the event, from westbound I-70, take the exit at mile marker 1 and KDOT staff will direct you to the event site.
In case of inclement weather, the event will be at the Goodland Travel Information Center, located on eastbound I-70, mile marker 7.
From westbound I-70, take the exit at mile marker 1 and then go eastbound on I-70 back to the travel center.
Everyone attending the event must adhere to social distancing guidelines and must wear a mask.

Kansas Department of Transportation Secretary Julie Lorenz, Kansas Department of Wildlife, Parks and Tourism Secretary Brad Loveless, Senator Rick Billinger and Mary Eisenhower, granddaughter of President Dwight D. Eisenhower are all scheduled to speak during the proceedings.
