Habitat for Humanity of Ellis Co. seeking repair applications

Habitat for Humanity of Ellis County is seeking home repair applications for low-income homeowners within Ellis County. Programs currently offered are a Brush with Kindness and Critical Home Repair.

A Brush with Kindness repair program includes painting, minor exterior building repair, window repair or replacement, and weatherization. This also includes minor landscape grading to provide adequate drainage away from residence, porch repair and ADA compliant handicap ramp construction or repair.

The Critical Home Repair program includes ramp access to primary entrance, handrail to primary entrance, and grab bars in the bathroom. Also covered is minor roof repair, floor repair, plumbing, electrical and any other repairs that would affect the health and safety of the homeowners.

Applicants agree to partner with Habitat to perform sweat equity such as helping with repairs or providing snacks for the volunteers during the repairs. Applicants must exhibit an ability to repay.
