ELLIS COUNTY —Two people were injured in an accident just before noon Friday in Ellis County.
The Kansas Highway Patrol reported a 2001 Dodge Ram 1500 driven by Shae Z. Bard, 48, Agra, was southbound on U.S. 183 approximately 6 miles north of Interstate 70 following a 2007 Freightliner semi driven by Jacob D. Reilly, 33, of Damar.
The Dodge attempted to pass another vehicle and rear-ended the semi as it began to make a left turn.
EMS transported Bard and a passenger in the pickup Zachary L. Pumphrey, 28, Plainville, to Hays Medical Center. Reilly was not injured. Bard was not wearing a seat belt, according to the KHP.
