FHSU’s Department of Economics, Finance, and Accounting recently announced its Student of the Year Awards for the 2024-2025 academic year for each major in the department: accounting, finance, and international business and economics.
Students graduating in the 2024-2025 academic year were eligible to receive this award, with the faculty from each discipline selecting the award recipients.
The 2024-2025 Accounting Student of the Year Award recipient is Megan Jones, Olathe. Megan will graduate with her B.B.A. degree with majors in accounting and finance this week. She graduated from Olathe South High School. Megan has accepted a position as an accounting analyst with Koch in Wichita following graduation.
The 2024-2025 Finance Student of the Year Award recipient is Jessica Saunders, Lehigh. Jessica will graduate with her B.B.A. degree with majors in accounting and finance this week. She graduated from Hillsboro High School. Jessica has accepted a position as an associate with AGH CPAs & Advisors in Wichita following graduation.
The 2024-2025 International Business and Economics Award recipient is Gabriela Vega, San Diego, Calif. Gabriela will graduate with her B.B.A. degree in international business and economics this week. She received her Associate of Science Degree from San Diego Mesa College with honors. She is a management analyst working for the Department of Veterans Affairs in San Diego.
