RUSSELL COUNTY —One person was injured in an accident just after 5 p.m. Thursday in Russell County.
The Kansas Highway Patrol reported a 2011 Buick Enclave driven by Lilly B. Epke, 14, Bazine, exited westbound Interstate 70 at 181st Street and came to a stop at the stop sign.
The driver failed to yield to northbound traffic and pulled out in front of a 2019 Subaru Ascent driven by Jessica D. Somers, 37, Russell.
A passenger in the Buick identified as 66-year-old Doris A. Epke of Schoenchen was transported to Hays Medical Center. The drivers were not injured. All three were properly restrained, according to the KHP. There were five juvenile passengers present in the Subaru and one in the Buick. The KHP reported no additional details.
