Vernie Lee Nelssen, age 93, passed away on Wednesday July 15, 2020, at the Smith County Memorial Hospital in Smith Center, KS.
Survivors include 2 daughters Judy (Dennis) Schmidt of Smith Center and Janeen (Bob) Hughes of Valley Center; 2 sons Jim of Manhattan and Jeff (Traci) of Wichita; 6 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren.
There will be a public visitation held from 5PM until 7PM Tuesday July 21, 2020, at the Simmons-Rentschler Mortuary.
Celebration of Life Services will be held at 10:30AM Wednesday July 22, 2020, at the Simmons-Rentschler Mortuary.
The family would like to encourage anyone in attendance wear a face mask or any face covering for everyone's safety.
Interment will follow in the Fairview Cemetery in Smith Center, KS.
The family requests memorial contributions be made to the Smith Center Schools and can be sent in care of the mortuary.
