Philip T. Kyle, 80, passed away May 3, 2021 at Cedar Village Long Term Care Unit in Ness City, KS.

He was born January 7, 1941 in Wichita, the son of Boyde (Tug) and Grace R. Ryan Kyle.  A longtime area resident, he was a Magistrate Judge in Hodgeman County for 24 years and prior to him being a judge, he was in a Law Practice with his wife, Karen.

He was a member of United Methodist Church, Jetmore, American Bar Association, Kansas Bar Association, where he served on Legislative and Ethic committees, Southwest Kansas Bar Association, past recipient of the outstanding District Magistrate Judges award. Appointed to help train the new Magistrate judges and was a member of the bar of the United State Supreme Court. He was a Vista Volunteer and organized the baseball program and library on the Oneida Indian Reservation in Green Bay, WI.  He was employed by the Kansas Services for the Blind and Visual Handicap, a member of the Delta Upsilon Fraternity, and an avid sports fan of all kinds.

On December 23, 1972, he married Karen S. Sinclair in Wichita.  She survives

Other survivors include; brother, Craig K. Kyle, Quebec, Canada; sister-in-law, Jenny Lu Hey, Jetmore; nine nieces and nephews and numerous great nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Martha Kyle.

Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Saturday, May 8, 2021 at United Methodist church, Jetmore, with Pastor Peter Mtuamwari presiding. Service will be viewable via facebook live at www.facebook.com/beckwithmortuary.  Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, May 7, 2021 at Beckwith Funeral Home, Jetmore.  Burial will be in the Fairmount Cemetery, Jetmore.
