Hoisington 24 - Hays 49
Hays High held Hoisington to just one field goal and two free throws in the first half and were never threatened on their way to a 49-24 win Tuesday night. Hoisington led just once at 2-0 less than a minute into the game.
Hays led 6-4 after one quarter before hold the Cardinals scoreless for the entire second quarter. The Indians' defense allowed Hays to build a 17-4 halftime lead.
Highlights
Hays built their advantage to 17 early in the third quarter before trading baskets with Hoisington. The Indians closed the quarter on a 6-0 run for a 35-16 advantage.
Hays led by as many as 27 in the fourth quarter before winning by 25.

Jersey Johnson and Molly Martin each scored eleven in the game. Jillyan Sheldon scored in double figures for the first time in thirteen career games with ten points.
Hays evens their record at 2-2. Hoisington falls to 3-2.
Boys
Hoisington 30 - Hays 47
It was a struggle, but Hays High was able to get their third win of the season over Hoisington 47-30 Tuesday night. The first half featured 21 total points. The Cardinals led Hays with 11 of those points.
The Indians never led and never tied the game in the first two quarters.
Highlights
The second half was a little more normal for the Indians shooting 55% from the field and making 11 of 12 free throws to score 37 points. Jace Linenberger gave the Indians their first lead of the night with a pair of free throws early in the third quarter on his way to a game high 18 points.
Hays led by eight after three quarter when Noah Weimer went coast-to-coast to beat the buzzer with a layup at 29-21. Hoisington cut the Hays lead from double figures several times early in the fourth quarter. The Indians though closed the game on a 12-4 run for a 47-30 final.

Hays improves to 3-1 on the season and are ranked #9 in 5A. Hoisington drops to 3-2. The Indians travel to Liberal on Friday to open Western Athletic Conference play.
