Floyd F. Truan, age 101 of Gorham, Kansas died Wednesday, January 12, 2022, at his home on his farm South of Gorham in the Winterset Township.  

He was born September 9, 1920, in rural Russell County South of Gorham to Edward and Lola (Roden) Truan.  He married Helen L. (Haggard) on July 19, 1952, at Dodge City, Kansas.  He spent 67 wonderful years with his loving wife until her death on  April 26, 2020.  

Floyd was a farmer, rancher and spent his lifetime in the Winterset community.  He attended the Hope Valley Grade School and the Gorham Community Church.  He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy.  He served on the Winterset Township Board, the Farm and Home Administration, and was a Russell County Commissioner.  He was the caretaker of the Winterset Cemetery for over 75 years.  Floyd enjoyed his farm life, fishing, reading, the Royals, going to auctions, his family, his grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Survivors include two sons, Kent Truan and wife, Pam, Gorham, KS; Jeff Truan, Gorham, KS; one daughter, Sherri Truan, Gorham, KS; 6 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; four brothers, Harold Truan; Archie Truan; Donald Truan; Ward Truan; and one sister, Esther Joyce.

A private family inurnment will be at Winterset Cemetery south of Gorham, Kansas.  

The family suggests memorials to the Gorham Community Church or Winterset Cemetery Fund made payable to the organization in care of Cline’s-Keithley Mortuary, 412 Main Street, Victoria, Kansas 67671.
