A week after entering her name into the transfer portal, Goodland native and Fort Hays State All-American Talexa Weeter announced Tuesday that she has committed to play basketball next season at Oklahoma State.

Weeter was named the D2CCA National Player of the Year and was a WBCA All-American.

Weeter led NCAA Division II and ranked second across all levels of NCAA women's basketball with an average of 27.5 points per game this past season. The Goodland native broke a 20-year-old MIAA scoring record with 852 points, 13th-most in a single season in DII history and the most by a DII student-athlete since 2018.

The junior also broke both the school and conference records for scoring average and is the first player in MIAA history and the second at FHSU to score more than 800 points in a season.
