WAKEENEY - The Trego boys and the Norton girls won the Goldsmith Relays Thursday. The Golden Eagles edged second place La Crosse by five points to win the team title. TMP-Marian finished fourth. Plainville finished second in the girls division, 13.5 points back of the first place Blue Jays. TMP-Marian finished fourth.
Wyndon Giefer won the 1600 and 3200 meter runs to lead the Trego boys. The Golden Eagles also won the 4x400 meter relay.
Trego’s Lili Shubert won the girls pole vault.
The Plainville girls had four first place finishes. Brady Bouchey won the 100 meter dash and was on the winning 4x100 meter relay team. Gracie Kerns won the long jump and triple jump. Brooklyn Staab led a 1-2-3 finish for the Cardinals in the discus.
The TMP-Marian won four events led by Jace Wentling who took both the long jump and triple jump. Carlos Tinoco won the 200 meters and Jeff Heiman the pole vault.
