The Hays school board will again consider the sale of land adjacent to Felten Elementary School, the former Hays Middle School, at its meeting at 6:30 tonight.

After a second request for bids, the district has received three bids for the 7.2 acres of land.

The new bids included the previous bidders: Land Inspired at $238,000 with plans to build 38 single-family homes, and PWC at $300,000 with plans to build 30 single-family homes.

A&S Unsworth LLC submitted a bid of $410,000 with plans to construct an elder care home on the property.

The board will have a second reading on the school handbooks for this school year.

During the board's first reading of the handbooks in July, board member Jayme Goetz expressed her opposition to the Boost program at Hays High, which allows students who are failing a class with a 55% or higher to make up work to rasie their grades to a D.

The board will hear a request to authorize $3,500 in start up funds for an E-sports program at Hays High. The funds will pay for equipment, software, licensing and related program expenses.

The board also will
• Consider spending $114,025 for renovations of the Hays Middle School track
• Consider spending up to $75,517 for the installation of a new Hays High baseball scoreboard.
• Have a first reading on board of education policies and benefits revisions
