Frances “Francie” Hurd Herman, 65, of Topeka, passed away Monday, February 8, 2021.
She
was born June 12, 1955, in Topeka, Kansas, the daughter of Bruce and
Nancy (Shell) Hurd. She graduated from Topeka West High School in 1973,
and went on to attend The University of Kansas, graduating in 1978.
Growing
up an only child, Francie kept in touch with many friends and
relatives, was a proud fan of her Jayhawks, spent weekends taking her
dog, George, to the dog park, and above all enjoyed being a mother of
four and grandmother of five.
Francie worked numerous jobs, the
last fifteen years as a legal assistant at the Law Office of Cooper and
Lee, and then Sloan Law Firm.
Survivors include her four
children, J. Alex Herman, Carly Slattery (Kayle), Maddie Walker
(Stephen), Zach Jeffries; five grandchildren Brayden and Sammie
Staley-Herman, J.T. Slattery, and Emerson and Stevie Walker; and her
dog, George.
She was preceded in death by both of her parents, and a brother that died in infancy.
