Gerald 'Jerry' Benoit

On Wednesday, December 30, 2020, Gerald "Jerry" Benoit, after a tough battle with Covid-19 crossed over to be with his Lord and rejoin his parents and sister.  He was born on January 18, 1951, in Rooks County Kansas to Bernard and Marie (Brown) Benoit.

An avid KU fan, he enjoyed watching KU basketball with family and friends.  His other hobbies included hunting, fishing, and playing golf.  His biggest joy was spending time with his three grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Joyce Gosselin.

Survivors include his wife of 47 years, Elizabeth of the home, a son Ed (Sarah) Benoit of Salina, daughters Laura (Jimmy) Orton of Taylor, TX, and Melanie Benoit of Salina.  Grandchildren Jessalyn Colborn, Parker Benoit, and Olivia Benoit all of Salina.

Brothers Bob (Kayleen) Benoit of Wichita, KS, Daniel (Janella) Benoit of Manhattan, KS, Lawrence (Jolene) Benoit of Damar, KS, and David (Carmen) Benoit of Pueblo West, CO.  Sisters Carol McKenna of Russell, KS, and Martha (Roger) Irby of Aurora, CO. And many nephews and nieces.  

There will be no visitation as cremation was chosen.  A graveside service will be held on Monday April 18th, 2022, at 9:00 at All-Saints Catholic Cemetery in Salina.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or the Wounded Warrior Project.
