Arthur “John” Thul, 76, passed away on March 12, 2022, at Via Christ St. Francis, Wichita, Kansas. He was born on April 21, 1945, at Great Bend, Kansas, to Arthur & Esther (Fosdick) Thul. He was previously married to Jacque Van Steenburgh.
A life-time resident of Great Bend, John worked as a bookkeeper for R & S Repair and Sunflower Diversified Services. In his younger days, he enjoyed working on cars, watching races and NASCAR, boats, and fishing. He was a member of the Prince of Peace Parish and Knights of Columbus.
Survivors include his mother of Great Bend; Jacque Van Steenburgh of Great Bend; and a stepdaughter, Sheryl Spears of Great Bend. He is preceded in death by his father; a brother, Franklin Thul; and an infant sister, Linda Thul.
Visitation will take place from 9:00 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, March 15, 2022, with the family receiving guests from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. and a Knights of Columbus Rosary at 7 p.m., all at Bryant Funeral Home. Funeral service will take place at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, March 16, 2022, at St. Patrick Catholic Church with Father Prakash Kola presiding. Interment will follow at Lakin-Comanche District Cemetery, Ellinwood, Kansas.
Memorials have been designated to the Prince of Peace Parish, in care of Bryant Funeral Home.
