The Kansas Department of Transportation plans to begin a resurfacing project on the entirety of K-25 in Rawlins County starting Wednesday, July 3.

Crews will first mill and overlay the 17 miles south of Atwood between the Thomas County line and the U.S. 36 junction. Upon completion of the south portion, work will continue north from the U.S. 36 junction to the Nebraska border on the remaining 13 miles.

Traffic through the areas where crews are actively working will be directed by flaggers and a pilot car. Motorists should plan for delays of 15 minutes or less during daylight hours.

KDOT expects the south portion to be completed by the end of July and the north portion to be completed by the end of September, conditions permitting.

APAC-Kansas Inc., Shears Division, of Hutchinson is the primary contractor for the $8.8 million project. For more information, contact KDOT Area Construction Manager Todd Anderson at 785-953-6011 or [email protected].
