Paul Wasinger

Paul Allen Wasinger, 94, of Ness City, KS passed away on Tuesday, December 15, 2020. He was born the son of John and Anna Mary (Haas) Wasinger on April 2, 1926.

Paul was married to Inez (Vogel) Wasinger for 70 years before she passed away January 2019. Paul owned and operated the Phillips 66 station for 45 years. He was a school bus driver for the United School District #303 for 51 years. He refereed high school football and basketball for many years with his brothers Nick and Wilbur. Paul served in the U.S. Navy during WWII for two years. Paul loved to spend time with his family, travel and work in his yard. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and American Legion of Ness City.

Paul was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Inez; his son, Dale; brothers: Nick and Wilbur Wasinger; sisters: Dorinda Gaschler, Rosalinda Gaschler and Vera Pfannenstiel.

He is survived by his children: Paula Wasinger, Karen (Rick) Weir, Rod (Tena) Wasinger, daughter-in-law, Jeanna Wasinger; sisters: Pauline Witthuhn and Joan VanDegrift; sisters-in-law: Kay Wasinger and Wilma Drake; 6 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.

Due to health concerns regarding COVID-19, the family will have a private graveside service at Sacred Heart Cemetery on Saturday, December 19, 2020 at 1pm. The viewing will be Friday, December 18, 2020, from 5-9pm. A Celebration of life will be held at a later date.

The family requests no flowers. Memorial contributions may be made to the Ness County Veteran’s Memorial and Park or the Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
